Let's cut to the bottom line about this list you 'found' (I assume you mean a quantity of email addresses) and you're contemplating contacting those people by importing this list into your autoresponder. No matter how you 'found' this list, importing and using it places you right in the path of spam complaints, and possible getting your I.P banned, or other nasty legal action taken against you - as an aside its probably low quality anyway, as most of them are. The old saying is 'rubbish in - rubbish out' Take the time to read the CanSpam Act here:

To build a List yourself, forget all the rubbish you hear and read about 1) using free autoresponders, 1) importing lists, 3) having you own hosted autoresponder and all the various 'shortcuts' and tricky methods. Instead do the following:1) Invest in a reputable autoresponder service supplier - I recommend 12SC because, unlike all the others, they provide not only the responder but an easy to use capture page maker, full tracking and 6 other services that all successful marketers have to have to succeed all in one integrated package - and all at very reasonable rates.
