Smart People Don't Just Accept Any Sponsor.

Think about it for a moment - you've found an excellent multi-tier affiliate program and you know your chances of succeeding will be helped dramatically if you have an active and experienced sponsor.  A sponsor who's asleep at the wheels is no help at all are they?

You know this don't you?. Of course you do. And most people investigating residual income opportunities on the net know it too.

You didn't just accept any Joe (or Jane) did you? (well I hope you didn't!)

No, you stopped for a moment, thought about what's best for you and leapt on to Google to do some research on this person.

So, here's my questions for you today.

* Are you differentiating yourself from the thousands of Joe/Jane Does out there?

* Through your willingness to to share with, help and support others without expectation, are you developing a following?

Using Internet Marketing Forums. There is a right way.

 

One aspect of Internet marketing that I suspect most newbie marketers tend to neglect is the importance of participating in online Internet marketing forums.

Why are Internet marketing forums so important?

There is no better way to learn how to make money online than by interacting with the people who are actually doing it.  Internet marketing forums are filled with people who are more than happy to answer your questions or help you out with a problem you are having.  In most cases all you need to do is ask.

There is also the networking aspect of participating in Internet marketing forums.  It always helps to get to know who the big players in any industry are but it’s even more important that they get to know who you are.  Internet marketing forums are a great way to socialize and interact with these people get to get to know them on a more personal level.

And of course there is the traffic!

While you usually can’t openly promote your affiliate links on Internet marketing forums you can often add them to your signature which appears beneath all of your posts.  The more posts you add to the forum the more likely your signature will be noticed by other forum members.  If you’re lucky the thread you are posting in might even get picked up by some of the major search engines giving you even more valuable traffic to your links. .....................

ie, the receptionist at Adidas New Zealand that posted in support of the uproar here about Adidas overpricing their All Blacks Rugby Jerseys in the lead up to the World Cup Games, and blocking Kiwi's from buying for about 50% less on overseas online shops - she was fired.

As online marketers we have also to consider the privacy of our legitimate activities in view of the increasing scrutiny of the FTC who are carrying widespread data gathering in an effort to justify increasingly restrictive legislation.

I received an email tonight with the subject line above, and decided to do a Google search to check it out.

Just as well I did.   My search took me to this post on the Warrior Forum......

BEWARE: Scam email offering massive discount on WPRobot

Can't believe I got taken in by a scam after 10+ years on the net telling people "Check it out before you buy!"

Got a mail last night the subject line being "*** WP ROBOT FOR $20 *** Powerful autoblogging plugin for WOrdpress weblogs...... recommends this site"

I've been looking at buying WPRobot for a while so I jumped right on it without double-checking. Silly me!

The link in the email opens a site which looks EXACTLY like the real WPRobot site complete with graphics and all. After purchase through Paypal, you're given a download, which is even MOST of the WPRobot plugin... it just doesn't work if you try to upload it.

Thinking back, the signs were there that it was a scam (using a URL shortener, domain didn't match the regular WPRobot site) but I was so excited by the massive discount that I didn't do my homework.

I filed a dispute with Paypal and was refunded this morning. I also made the REAL WPRobot site aware of the issue.

So just a note for anyone who receives the same scam.

Disturbingly, the email came in to one of my more secure mail addresses, so it looks like someone I've bought something from in the past has either sold on mail addresses, or has had their list hacked

The bottom line is:  If it looks to good to be true - be suspicious and check it out.

The Best Safelists To Use In July 2011

Has it really been nearly three months since I last updated my blog and contacted all my valued subcribers?  Sorry.  After a leisurely holiday in Malaysia I returned to New Zealand and almost immediately went down with a rather nasty neurological condition. Even now I'm still not fully up to speed, but am recovering slowly.
